The only place i can see the activity is a clear spot under the habaki that shows a very rich blue color with wood grain and very bright white temper. The blade has no cracks, chips, or forging flaws. There is some fingerprint rust with light pitting that will easily coem out in a polish. The original copper habaki is in excellent condition. The ww2 army fittings are complete and show wear from age and use. The leather on the scabbard is missing about six inches near the end, the handle wrap is loose, a little bit of the shark skin has fallen out, and there is a small crack on the seam of the pommel. I believe this blade has great potential to receive papers after restoration.
